Week three Reflection
During the third week of class my Teacher talked to us about his dissertation project. I thought it was really good to tell us what his project was about and how he presented his argument in front of the board members. He also told the class that his wife was there with supporting his argument about his dissertation. He also explained to us on how it was unorthodox to have someone with you while doing a dissertation debate in front of the board members because it has never been done. I thought it was pretty damn cool to do something different. My teacher is always encouraging us to be ourselves when writing and to find our own way when writing. I have been going through a lot of personal problems outside of school. I am still dealing with the death of my grandmother on my father side of the family three years ago. To this day it still affects me because my grandmother would always encourage me to push myself because she knows that I was diagnosed with a developmental disability and she knew that school was always challenging for me throughout my life. Growing up I did not make a lot of friends, instead I was always made fun of because I was different and hyper active. I also had a hearing disability which I was born deaf in my right ear. When I was a child I would wear a headset unit in class so that I can be more focus in class and not distracted by the outside noise. Kids always made fun of me for what I look like whenever I would wear them to school. My brother always stood up for me when children would make fun of me at school. I always look up to my brother growing up, we are very close. He is like my best friend, I feel blessed to have that kind of brother in my life. We played with each other when we were kids. Every Saturday morning we would play Sega genesis together and wake up early in the mourning opening up our Christmas gifts together. Those were the good old times.
